Hey, it's been a while since my last blog post and I guess some of you are wondering where on earth I am. Well at this particular moment I am typing this from an ancient laptop, sat on the floor of my new house, 800 miles away from where I used to live! I'm sure my furniture and computer will catch up with me sooner or later.

The plan is still to reopen Hexed, but as with all plans things tend to get in the way. Unfortunately a few months ago I had a death in the family that hit me pretty hard, and of course now the relocation. The plan now is to reopen Hexed on a smaller scale, and as soon as my computer arrives (hopefully intact and working!) I shall be working hard to reopen the island.

Thank you all who have contacted me for you kind words. And I shall see you all again inworld soon.

Well the sale is over. Kya got a lot of compliments and comments. Today the sim closed down "until further notice". She's said 4ish months. Please don't hold her to an exact schedule. She will post more as time draws closer.

Sale Update

Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who has bought something in the sale - remember the sale ends in two days time, on Friday 17th April at 12:00pm SLT, after which time everything in Hexed main will be retired and the island will be closed.

Also, if you purchased the Referee Costume (m/t) you may have ended up with a Teacher's Pet costume instead! Just drop me a notecard and IM with transaction number and I will drop you the correct item. This only affects the mod/transfer version of this costume.

Lastly, if you wanted to unsubscribe or subscribe from Hexed updates, there is a kiosk situated just outside of Hexed main. Next to it is a suggestions box should you wish to make a suggestion for items you wish to see when we reopen. When the island closes at midday on Friday, these two items will be available at Debug (formerly Hexed Code) in Wingo. I will have links to them in my picks from Friday onwards.

Hexed Clearance/Remodeling Sale!

They say that a change is as good as a rest, so Hexed is closing - for remodeling (expected duration 4+ months).

- All Hexed main items are being discontinued and have been marked down to clearance prices of L$25-50!

- All Hexed Alt items have been marked down to sale prices of 50% or less. (Selected Hexed Alt items will be available on xstreetsl.com after the sim is closed).

Days of Hexed gone by

Has it been so long since I have so much as logged in? I supposed it has. I have been gone though, for good reasons. Let me rephrase. The reasons for which I have been gone would be acceptable were I to bore you with them. Needless, I have been drawn away for a good long time now and hopefully I am soon to return.

As I swing back into the saddle (yeah I found my old RenFest Island horse!) Kya and I are seeing that all the random junk we have rammed together in Hexed doesn't mesh. So we're going to rip the stores apart and move things around. I suppose Hexed Code is going to pass on into oblivion, but some things from there and some from Hexed Prefabs will continue on...

We thought that we could continue making Medieval buildings, and maybe expand out the Archery/weapon system slightly towards the fun it was when I sold Aura. But in doing so there wouldn't be a good excuse to leave them hanging around with Kya's clothing lines. Not willing and able to buy a sim just to put a castle in, I am going to have to find a home for all things Renaissance I have, plus the things I have left on the back burner for years that I should have finished then.

Anyone got an idea for a good Medieval/Renaissance sim with a decent-size store to rent?

Changes

Anyone want to buy an openspace sim? No? Didn't think so but it was worth a shot. I deleted the maze on the openspace sim, it wasn't even finished yet! And the sim is already gone. I couldn't justify $150 each month for a maze. Sighs, well at least LL made my decision an easy one right? I'm a little disappointed I have to admit, but I can either continue to pay what they want or walk away from it. I have chosen to walk away, from the openspace only, for now!

The main sim has also been renamed Hexed (instead of Hex), and probably redeveloping yet again to make the shop smaller as well as recombining Hexed and Hexed Alt into one shop again. So if anyone has any helpful suggestions on how to make my shop less like a maze (sorry to all those who are having problems finding stuff) now is the time to speak up.

Course all of this will be done after a reformat of my computer as I'm blue screening each time I try to log into SL at the moment. I had to steal Ferret's computer this morning just to delete the content on the opensim!

So anyway what kind of shop would you like? Let me know how I can make shopping at Hexed easier (and yes, I know, more new releases would be good! Just as soon as RL stops being so hectic...).

A Tiny Freebie and a Simple Contest

Hey all. Don't ask where I've been. I don't know either. This thing called 'real life' seems to keep me pretty occupied these days. Nothing's on fire or anything, just busy.

Kya and I meant to decorate for Hallow's Eve but that RL thing took up more time than we had in our day. I did make a freebie Pumpkin Print that's been available in Wingo for a while now but I thought I'd drop it ouside Hexed Code for the rest of this week. It's prim pumpkins that rez behind you as you walk, bursting into dust a few moments later. I'm told they're "Very cute". Stop over and grab them!

And the little contest. Over the next couple of weeks, send me a suggestion for a new print. Email me at ferret.bjornson@gmail.com - don't IM me 'cause they get capped and lost. Cutoff will be November 7th. [Edit - or reply to this post!]

It could be a shadow print like my originals, a particle floaty print like the Butterfly ones, or a prim one exploding like the pumpkins... or, well use your imagination and tell me your idea. Keep it clean. I'll read through them and a biased judging panel consisting of myself and Kya will choose 3 winners (or so) to make. I'll drop our favorite one free to everyone who makes a suggestion! The three winners will get all three free plus L$1,000 gift cards good in Hexed Main, Hexed Alt, Hexed Code, and Hexed Prefabs!

I couldn't resist having another go at scultpies. I made the horns first, then a friend (thanks Booo!) said I had to make a halo too!

Well it's been a while, and I'm pleased to say I'm feeling a whole lot better. I don't really want to bore you all with the details, so all I will say is if you ever find a bullseye rash go see a doctor, don't leave it like I did! (Lyme disease isn't a whole lot of fun). So I'm just letting you know that I am still around, but too ill in real life to work at developing anything new at the moment. The Easy Rezzer - from Hexed Code!

Easily and quickly sets up so you can rez anyprims, anytime!

The Easy Rezzer enables you to rez Objects with a simple button. While it was designed to be used to demo Objects for sale, it could easily be set up so you can change your living room furniture instantly!

The Easy Rezzer works in just a few steps:

Rez an Object, or group of Objects, you want to set up.
Please the Easy Rez script inside them
Place the Objects inside the Easy Rezzer
Type their names into the notecard and when you press the Control Button, the Objects will reappear in the exact spot you'd placed them.

Just a note to say sorry if you were unable to TP to the sim for about an hour tonight - I was a little busy working on the landing point teleport area. I think it looks good now though :)

The sim is now reopened and I can start work on what on earth I'm going to do with the opensim that seemed like such a good idea when I ordered it!

Group Gift :)

It's bring your child to work day - yay (yeah right). So I let my child lose on one of my templates and she chose the most difficult thing of all - stripes! I promised I would upload it send it out as a group gift (I included a belt as stripes are the worst things in the world to line up).

And yes, I realise in the picture I look like I have black eyes and that the lighting and shadows are awful - I hate taking photos in Windlight. It's one of the reasons for the lack of releases lately. I've been so disheartened by not being able to find the right settings for pictures, I'm afraid it's taking me a while to get used to this new lighting. That and my photo studio now no longer seems to work. Any suggestions for a great windlight friendly photo studio? (Or am I going to have to ask Ferret to do a little scripting for me!)

Update: yay I have settings in Windlight that don't make me look like I went a few rounds in a boxing ring!! A big thank you to Ashia Tomsen for dropping me a notecard with the settings and a huge thanks to Caliah Lyon for writing that notecard :)

The Mysterious Black Box (or why you can't teleport to Hexed)

Update: IT WORKS!!! Thanks to Ethan on the concierge live chat. Direct teleport hadn't been enabled and so it was routing to the nearest telehub, which just happened to be on the neighbouring island (into their lovely black box!)

After weeks of waiting the opensim was added to the existing island - yay! Unfortunately it also borked teleports :(

If you find yourself teleported to a black box (green on the outside) - then you've been teleported to the neighboring sim!! If you use the landmark again and teleport a second time you should find yourself in at Hexed (and from that point on I *think* the landmarks should work fine, if testing with my alts is anything to go by).

I realize most people aren't going to try that. Hopefully enough will read this post to know that I haven't just disappeared. I've submitted a support ticket so hopefully this will be sorted out soon.

Edit: Nope, it appears I was wrong - I have tried it with an alt not in the group and there's no way of teleporting to the island. Everytime you will end up at the corner of TFEmpire.
